The Tentative Salary Agreement in Perspective

Overall

This TA will provide the following salary increases for faculty over the
next 4 years:

    • 20.7% (not counting compounding) in General Salary Increases (3% of that is retroactive back to July of 2006)
    • Four guaranteed 2.65% Service Step Increases for faculty who are eligible for them—all are effective on the eligible faculty member’s anniversary date (rather than the delayed payment date of June 30 used in the past); the first 2.65% SSI retroactive to the anniversary date in 2006/2007
    • $14 million (equivalent to 1% of payroll) in a new Equity Program to address inversion and related structural salary inequities.
    • $14 million (equivalent to 1% of payroll) in a new Post-Promotion Increase (PPI) Program to address compression problems for senior faculty (including Lecturer D) who have exhausted SSI eligibility
    • In addition to all the previous, 3% contingent on special allocation by the legislature and the Governor
